Fall Quarterly Meeting-Wolf Conflict Management

 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE, Ellensburg, Washington- 

As a lead-in to the Washington State Democratic Central Committee meeting in Ocean Shores on September 20 and 21, the Agricultural and Rural Issues Caucus will host a tour of Wolf Haven in Tenino. The Executive Director of Wolf Haven International, Diane Gallegos, will lead us in a tour of the Wolf Haven Sanctuary on Friday, September 20th, at 1:00 p.m., which is in Tenino near Olympia – a short detour off the main route to Ocean Shores from most parts of the state. Wolf Haven has graciously waived admission fees for our group tour. Although the tour route is flat and wheel chair accessible, please be advised that it is a gravel path. Please leave your pets at home, dogs are not allowed in the sanctuary. If you have a service dog, please contact Wolf Haven at (360) 264-4695 extension 221 prior to the tour. 

The Caucus will meet at 8 am Saturday, September 21 at the Quinault Beach Resort and Casino. Representative Brian Blake, 19th Legislative District, and Chair of the House Agriculture and Natural Resource Committee, will talk to us about wolf management. Representative Blake was named the 2011 Legislator of the Year by the Washington State Farm Bureau. He serves on the Western Legislative Forestry Task Force, the Pacific States Marine Fisheries Commission, and the Coastal Caucus. Formerly, he was a contract forester.  Please join us for this informative presentation.
