Agricultural and Rural Issues Caucus (ARC) Winter Quarterly Meeting January 31-February 1, 2014

As a lead-in to the Washington State Democratic Central Committee meeting in Vancouver, Washington on January 31 and February 1, the Agricultural and Rural Issues Caucus (ARC) will host tours of the Water Resources Education Center Wetlands and the Water Reclamation Facility. The wetlands tour will be led by Bev Walker, an educator with the City of Vancouver Water Resources Education Center. The wastewater management facility tour will be led by Matt Beltran, an Environmental, Health and Safety and Security (EHS&S) Manager with Veolia Water North America – West, LLC.

ARC will meet at 8 am Saturday, February 1 at the Hilton Vancouver, 301 West 6th St, Vancouver, WA 98660. Paul Spencer, ARC secretary, will lead an update on Washington State biomass and anaerobic digester initiatives. There will be an update on the Skamania County Biomass Utility Project, a Skype presentation by one or more speakers on anaerobic digesters, and a question and answer period to follow. State committee members and the public are welcome to attend and participate in all these activities.
